Seattle Stamped Concrete Patios & Driveways

HTS Concrete & Construction installs new stamped concrete patios, driveways, walkways, and pool decks for homes across Puget Sound—Seattle, Bellevue, the Eastside, the Snoqualmie Valley, and Snohomish County. Pattern, color, and border details chosen to match your home's architecture, laid out with clean joints and consistent finish across the whole pour. Stamped concrete gives you the look of stone or slate with the strength of a single poured slab.

What Is Stamped Concrete?

Stamped concrete is a poured concrete slab that's textured and patterned while it's still workable. Mats pressed into the surface create the look of slate, stone, or other materials, and integral or surface color is added so the finished slab reads as a designed feature rather than plain gray flatwork.

Because it's one continuous slab, stamped concrete suits patios, walkways, driveway accents, and pool surrounds where you want a decorative surface with fewer joints than individual pavers. Every stamped surface we install is a new pour, built on a properly prepared base.

Choosing a Pattern and Color

Pattern and color are where stamped concrete becomes yours. Slate and stone textures are popular for patios because they add grip and hide everyday wear. A stamped border—sometimes called a picture frame—can outline a smoother field, define a seating area, or tie a patio to the house and landscape.

Darker colors, like the charcoal patio in our gallery, pair well with modern homes and Northwest landscaping; lighter tones keep a space bright. During the site visit we'll talk through how the pattern, color, and slab layout work with your home, your slope, and how you plan to use the space.

Seattle Stamped Concrete: Slopes, Drainage & Permits

Seattle backyards often step down a hillside, so a stamped patio or pool deck is planned for slope and drainage before a pattern is chosen. We grade and build the base so water runs away from the house, then set control joints to fit the pattern. On custom homes we work alongside your builder and architect and coordinate around the permits your project requires. Stamped patios, walkways, entries, pool decks and new concrete driveways in Seattle are each a new pour, finished with craftsmanship, attention to detail and personalized service from the owners.

Built on the Same Foundation as Our Other Concrete

A stamped surface is only as good as what's under it. We handle the site prep, grading, base, forming, reinforcement, and pour ourselves, then stamp and finish the slab with control joints placed to fit the pattern. That same approach is behind our patios, walls, and foundations and our concrete driveways.

HTS is family owned and operated by Sean and Heather Tolbert, with partner Jeremy Henning—over 40 years of combined experience in the concrete industry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is stamped concrete slippery when wet?

Any hard outdoor surface can be slick when wet, and that matters in a climate like ours. Textured patterns—like slate—generally offer more grip than very smooth patterns, and the finish you choose matters most around pools, on steps, and on sloped walkways. For those areas we'll talk through pattern and finish options with traction in mind, including whether a broom or exposed aggregate finish would be a better fit.

Stamped concrete vs pavers: which is better?

Both can look great; they behave differently.

Stamped concrete is one continuous, reinforced slab. There are fewer joints for weeds to grow through and no individual units to shift. Like all concrete it can crack, which is why control joints are placed deliberately as part of the layout.

Pavers are individual units set on a base. They can be lifted and reset, but they can also settle, shift, or grow weeds in the joints over time.

We install stamped concrete, not pavers, and we're happy to talk honestly about which suits your site.

Can you stamp a driveway?

Yes. We install full stamped concrete driveways as well as stamped borders and accents around broom-finished or exposed aggregate driveways, with the layout planned around your slope, traction, and vehicle use. See our concrete driveway page for more.
